## My phone isn’t pairing to my dashcam. Now what?

Some phones will automatically pair to your dashcam when you come into Wi-Fi signal range. Other phones will require you to pair manually. You can pair manually by opening the Hivemapper app and selecting “Connect dashcam Wi-Fi” on the dashcam tab.

## You're Ready to Start Mapping

After you've connected the companion app to the dashcam, and made sure the dashcam is mounted properly using the dashcam image preview in the app you are ready to start mapping.

{% hint style="info" %}
Depending on when you received your dashcam, its firmware may not be up to date. Connecting the dashcam to the companion app for the first time may trigger a firmware update. Once the update finishes installing, you will be ready to start mapping.
{% endhint %}
