MIP-10

The original MIP-10 proposal discussed multiple types of app-based contributions. The finalized version started with a bounty for Buzz reports, paid from the treasury of the Hivemapper Foundation, with rewards for smartphone-based contributions to be incorporated into the rewards pool at a later date.

Buzz was an experimental app experience that allowed contributors to mark the presence of roadwork. MIP-10 created a temporary bounty to reward these contributors.

A baseline bounty was available for new Buzz reports everywhere in the world. A boosted bounty was available in 15 areas of the world with the highest density of Hivemapper cameras and map coverage. these areas were:

  • Amsterdam
  • Chicago
  • Dubai
  • Los Angeles
  • Lisbon
  • London
  • Madrid
  • Manila
  • New York City
  • Paris
  • San Francisco
  • Singapore (Entire Country)
  • South Korea (Entire Country)
  • Taiwan (Entire Country)
  • Toronto
